Model United Nations · Varna
Where students become delegates: a school club for debate, diplomacy and the courage to speak on the world's biggest questions.
Who We Are
We are a student-led Model United Nations club based in Varna, Bulgaria, proudly representing our school, Lycée Français International de Varna Charles Perrault.
Our story began last year with a small group of students whose main goal was to create a club that would allow us to participate in more MUN conferences, develop our public speaking, negotiation, and debate skills, and become more confident in taking on new challenges.
What started as a simple meeting during lunch with our teacher, where we would sit down, eat, and discuss our ideas, slowly grew into something much bigger. At the time, the idea of organising our own MUN conference seemed almost impossible. However, we decided that this would be a challenge worth taking on the following school year.
Our experience at ZaraMUN was an important turning point for many of us. For some of our students, it was their very first MUN conference, and it inspired them to take things further. We wanted to share that same experience with others and create an opportunity for more students to discover what MUN is really about.
Today, our small group has grown into a club bringing together students from three different grade levels, all sharing their ideas, challenging different perspectives, and working towards a common goal. Our meetings have evolved from informal conversations over lunch into a more organised setting, where every member is encouraged to contribute, take responsibility, and play a part in shaping our projects.
This year, three students in their final year of high school have taken on the challenge of leading the club and organising our very first international MUN conference here in Varna. Although this is our first time organising such an event, we are highly motivated and determined to create an experience that is both enjoyable and serious, where students from different schools and countries can come together to debate, negotiate, and learn from one another.
Above all, our club focuses on helping students become confident speakers, open-minded individuals, and strong candidates who are ready to participate in future conferences without fear or doubt. We believe that MUN is not just about debating, but also about meeting new people, exchanging ideas, and discovering what we are capable of achieving together.
What began as a simple conversation over lunch has now grown into something we once thought was impossible: our very own international MUN conference.
Speak with confidence, without fear or doubt.
Share ideas and challenge different points of view.
Take responsibility and shape our projects together.
